With Stormzy as the new brand ambassador, it was clear this Pepsico brand’s sound needed to feel special. Find out how Rockstar’s sonic identity helps this brand to stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Background

The energy drink category has some clear codes of conduct.  From their look through to their sound, competitors tend to feel: serious, dark, distant, individualistic, goal orientated, functional.

Rockstar exists to challenge these category conventions, instead feeling: social, vibrant and mischievous.

We designed Rockstar’s sonic identity around the idea of social fun.  Its exciting, fun and fresh vibe is formulated to sonically fire up your mood so you can go into play at 100%.

The Rockstar brand theme is the core of its sonic identity and aims to communicate Rockstar’s brand personality: Social, Vibrant, Mischievous.

Sonic Logo

The Rockstar sonic logo embodies the ‘Press Play’ moment. Product SFX help to conjure the ritual of consuming the drink; cheering voices create the feeling of a fun, energetic social experience; an upward moving melodic sequence offers a positive energy boost, ultimately firing up the listeners’ mood.
